When I arrived at college, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do yet, but I knew it would involve science.
I worked briefly in two research labs, but soon learned research wasn't for me. I enjoyed the overall purpose of projects, but not the day-to-day investigation.

In the fall of my junior year, I stepped away from the bench to study abroad at Oxford University. Not only did I have one of best experiences of my life, but I also realized my true calling: science writing.
After completing my undergraduate degree in microbiology from the University of Georgia, I headed to the medical journalism program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I am now a second year graduate student.
This summer, I interned at UNC's News Services office where I wrote and edited press releases and research briefs.
After graduation, I'm headed wherever the wind takes me.
